Wood-fired pies, made the way Nonna taught us.
★ Family owned in Maplewood since 1987 ★Bella's started in 1987 when Giuseppe and Bella Rossi turned a tiny storefront on Maplewood Avenue into the neighborhood's living room. The brick oven came over from Naples; the recipes came from Bella's grandmother.
Today their daughter Maria runs the kitchen, the oven still burns oak and cherry wood, and the sauce is still made every single morning. Some things shouldn't change.
Five stars, hold the anchovies.
"The Margherita is the closest thing to Naples in New Jersey. We drive twenty minutes past three other pizzerias to get here."
— Dana R."Maria remembers our order. The garlic knots never make it home. This place IS the neighborhood."
— Marcus T."Best white pie I've had anywhere, and I'm from Brooklyn. I don't say that lightly."
— Angela P.Dine in, take out, or call ahead — your pie's ready when you are.
